NHS Jobs

They correctly said securing a trust grade job in NHS nowadays is like a PLAB 3 exam. Does that mean, it is a difficult process? Many people have a different experience when it comes to getting their first job, especially without any previous NHS experience, but I would rather say, this process is neither as difficult as someone would explain nor an easy piece of cake as well. Previously, we used to hear many stories where doctors used to get NHS jobs even before obtaining GMC registration or they used to get 10 interviews call on applying to 20 jobs. This is definitely not gonna happen these days, but having said that, sooner or later everyone with a GMC registration will be able to get a job. It’s more about having patience and developing a strong portfolio day by day.

In my case, I applied for about 100 jobs. I got my first interview call within 22 days of getting my GMC registration. Subsequently, I got 4 more interview calls and got selected in all of them.

Here is my experience of this entire journey. I have tried breaking down that into five different sections.

1. Setting up the NHS jobs profile

2. NHS job search and navigation

3. My experiences on NHS job interview

4. Pre-employment checks and conditional job offer letter
